Andrew Thornton and Jenny Argie were both born in Kansas City, Missouri. Often crossing paths during their childhood, they parted ways to pursue their education in art, architecture and mathematics.

Jenny attended The College of Arts in the Bay Area, earning a BFA in painting. Nurturing his deep interest for theoretical mathematics, Andrew graduated from the University of Kansas with a BS in mathematics.

In 1999, Jenny and Andrew were married.

They soon moved to Philadelphia to further their studies in art and mathematics. Andrew persued his graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania while Jenny attended the Academy of fine art gaining a MFA in painting.

The two continued their journey to New York, where Andrew graduated from Cooper Union in architecture.

Andrew has worked in Manhattan as an architect and Jenny as a painter.

In 2002, they learned that they were expecting their first child. They immediately began sketching and building the style of furniture they believed would inspire their child's growth and feed their child's imagination. This was the birth of Argington.
